    Hola personas!
I must admit, I have been terribly remiss in my not updating. Lo siento. But now I intend to remedy that error. So here goes.
Today was the end of a lovely 4-day long Fall Break/Columbus Day holiday at HACC. I took the opportunity to relax and do barely any homework . . . So very nice . Chelsea came over Friday afternoon and we went to Devil's Den(part of the battlefields in Gettysburg, for anyone who doesn't know), after a quick stop at McDonald's for some icecream. I don't really like MickieD's that much, but I must admit their fudge sundaes are delicious. We sat on the rocks, watched the sunset, ate icecream, and just talked. About God . . . life . . . starting a bible study, and we laughed and joked about frivolous, fun stuff(country singers, lol). It'd been way too long since I had a good conversation with friends like that.  Then later we went to Ben's football game, watched them win(go Eagles!), came home, ate more icecream(mmm-mmm), and then Chelsea slept over. In all a wicked-splendid day.
The rest of the break was nice, too. On Saturday we did yardwork at the old house, and Sunday we had a birthday party for my 4-year old cousin at my Grandparents. It's always an enjoyable time at their house with the family.
Hmmm, so what else has been going on with me/us? Well, I guess it's pretty much been keeping up with hw,(well, mostly), taking turns with Rachel driving Ben and Josh to their football and soccer practices, respectively, getting together with friends whenever we can, and going to church. Rachel and I are taking US History 103, Spanish 102, and Math at HACC. Rachel's taking College Alg. there, and I'm takin Pre-Calc. online(wouldn't recommend online courses for a math class, 'cause you're basically teaching yourself). And I'm taking CADD(computer aided drawing and design) and Rae's taking Intro to Multi-media with the cyber school. So we're kept pretty busy, but overall I like the courses.
Oh, I just thought of something to write about. We have chickens! Yeah, you read that right, chickens. At the moment we have 5(we've had them for just over a month now) and get about 2-3 eggs a day. We keep threatening to kill one of them if it doesn't start laying eggs soon, but I kinda doubt that will happen(the laying eggs or us killing it). haha, they have these things on facebook, where you can throw things at people online. One of the options is chickens, which I like to pick since I actually have chickens to throw now. Not that I'm actually throwing a chicken, just online. You can also give people cookies, high-5 them, slap them with fish, or give them cyber beer(right dan?). Mucho divertido Now that I think about it, I don't think I've actually touched any of our chickens yet. but anyway . . .
So I think that's about it for my update. Hope you all are having a spectacular Fall, enjoying all this oddly warm weather we've been having. Leave us comments and let us know how you're doing. Voy a dormir ahora. G'night! (k, they really need to get a sleepy smiley, or atleast a yawning one on here. That would be cool. Have you ever seen a smiley yawn online, and then had to yawn the next second. It's wierd, kinda like even the fake ones are contagious. haha, yeah . . . I'm sleepy. ttyl)

    Alright, alright, alright. I'll update.

Oh, wow, I just realized we haven't updated since just after the Formal. That seems like a forever ago. Of course, anything beyond 2 1/2 weeks ago seems like the distant past, kindof, since the last 2 1/2 weeks have been so packed. I'll fill y'all in on them in a sec. Anyway, sorry for the nearly three month gap, everyone. We really are going to try to avoid that in the future, hopefully.

So we've been home for about 13 hours now, 8 of which I spent sleeping. Where were we, you might ask?  Well, Rachel, our bro Ben, friend Karah, and I went on a mission trip with YWAM.(Youth With A Mission) Rae and I were part of what they call Phase II of the SST(summer of service & training) program, since this was our second year. Ben and Karah were part of Phase I, the major difference being that they did outreach in Mexico, while ours was in Chicago. It was pretty much awesome. We spent the first week at their base in Texas, focusing on our relationships with God and also preparing for ministry in Chicago. It was so cool to be back, re-connecting with friends from last year, and forming new friendships with some awesome people. Every afternoon and night we had amazing worship times and some cool speakers. The one that sticks out to me the most talked about "I hate beans!" haha, it's a long explanation, but basically it was about not settling for less than God's best for your life. Also we spent afternoons doing ministry prep, getting ready for our individual ministries. I was in the drama Turn Around again, this time as the main girl. One of the guys taped us doing it, so hopefully I'll be able to post the video of it on here. Rachel was in the drama 7even(seven) and we also had 2 dance teams, 2 worship teams, and a funny skits team. The rest of the time was spent at the Challenge course(haha, try getting 60-some people over a 13-or-so feet high wall, without being allowed to talk at all while doing it. good memories), swimming in the lake, and relaxing somewhat during free time.
So that was the first week, then we started outreach with a 17-hr drive to chicago. Rae and I rode in one of the 15 passenger vans, always a memory making experience. Anyway, chicago was cool. We cleaned parks, drew with sidewalk chalk, hung out with homeless people, did our skits, dances and dramas, went to a muslim mosque and hindu temple(major eye-opening experiences), talked with people about their beliefs, had open-air worship in the middle of downtown Chicago(incredible), walked along Lake Michigan at night,  and asked complete strangers at Daley(sp?) Plaza if we could pray for them. It was fun, challenging, exhausting, interesting, and exhilarating, all at different times. It really helped me step out and be bold about talking to people about God, which wasn't always fun or comfortable, but definitely good for me.
On Monday we headed back to tx, and then spent Tuesday packing and had a movie night, then Wednesday we said goodbyes(a sad time, but hopefully I'll be able to keep in touch with a lot of them).  It was an incredible time, and I'm really glad we went. But I must say I'm glad to be home, it'll be nice to get a decent night of sleep, and not have to worry about fire ants or chigger bites. My word, Texas has some evil bugs. haha, yeah . . . anyway, that was my last 2 and a half weeks. So what have you all been up to?
ttyal, love ya and good-bye for now,

  • Hiya xanga people!

It's been a while since I've been on. Thankfully Rachel has been updating for us. So how have you all been? Anything new, odd, interesting, exciting going on? We have some new stuff going on. For example, a new house! Yeppers, we're moving. Closing on our new place was on Monday night, and then Tues. we went there to show our grandma and aunt everything. I love it there, it's so pretty and peaceful. We're not moving yet though; we're waiting till after co-op ends. Which will be in 2 weeks! Just this wednesday and next and then no more school!(except for a few things we need to finish up at home) We hope to move the weekend after that.

Anything else going on . . . oh yes, Rachel and I went to the Formal on Friday night. That was fun, it was the first time we went. We got all dressed up, and our aunt did our hair and everything. Then we got a bit messed up with navigation(haha, Dan), and got their a bit after dinner started. But that was ok. And after dinner, we spent the rest of the time talking and attempting to dance. lol, I don't think I ever got the hang of the waltz or the tango. but oh well . . . oh, and we had italian ice.  So that was pretty cool.

Ok, so Dan is reading over more shoulder and that's kind of distracting so I think I'm gonna get off now. Talk to you all later, and be sure to leave us lots of comments. Or don't, if you'd rather not. so anyways, bye . . .

  • Since it's been a month since my last post I figured I should write another one.  And what better time than late at night ( or rather early morning) when I should be finishing my Physcis paper?? Yup, that's right, we have a 2 page pape in Physics. And it's really not hard. Theres just so much info on what I'm doing mine on, and I went and made it too long. So that stinks. It's just that I haven't done a two page paper in like forever, so I kinda forgot how simple they were and over complicated it. So it'll end up being an average 2 page paer, while it could have been a great 3-4 pager. But oh well. "Se lovey" which is totally not the right spelling. But supposedly it means "such is life" in french or somthing. And I'm not really sure why I'm posting it since I don't like the French language or nation really.  Although I know God loves them and they need Jesus. So um, yeah...what was I talking about??

Right! my paper. But I covered that topic. Onto another one! But, alas, I can not think of another topic. And the knowledge of my paper looms ahead. How I long for the days when Hillside is over.  It'll be like blue skies after months of dreary gray. And yet we have at least 3 more weeks. :sigh:

Have you ever been online in a forum or chat room and you realize some one lives like in the same state/area as you? It's an interesting thing, and a reminder of house small our world is.  ( i know, i know, cliché, sorry). but yeah, it's kinda cool too.

So what do you guys think of predestination? not to start a debate or anything. I'm already in one on a forum, and I was just wondering what y'all thought.

Alrighties, enough is enough.  I'll be a good home schooler and get this hw done. Adios.

  • I'm feeling introspective today. I think thats the word anyway.  Last night I had a wonderful chat with Amanda, just catching up with each other. It was good...I felt happy afterwords.

On Wednesday we spent the night at some good friends house. I love those people! We took a walk on Thursday. The weather was heavenly. (Do you ever wonder how we get phrases like that since so no ones [at least not many] been to heaven and back so we don't really know what heavens like?) It was so warm and there was a delightful breeze that just made me feel so alive. I love days like that. Then we had a giant snowball fight, while on our walk, from the left over snow. It was so odd, cuz it was like 70 degrees out and yet we were having a snowball fight.

Yeah, so there's not too much else to report. Yesterday I worked the narrations for choir (finally got them done, woot!) and spanish. Today we're going to be clearing out our attic. If you don't know already we're moving. Yeah, it's pretty cool. I'm happy about it, although we'll be farther away from some good friends. Sorry! But I love where we're moving to, and our new house.  It's incredible. I can't wait to move, but we have a lot of stuff to do in the meantime. Hence, (my math teacher loves to use that word) the cleaning of the attic.

Alrighty. Can you tell I'm in the mood to ramble? I could go on like this for awhile. Wait, why are you leaving??  But I must go.

So have a wonderful day and weekend and next week and month and year and so on 'till I see you again. Love you all incredibly...Rachel

And i thought i'd add these smileys just because i like them...
